Pilot Panel Card RGB HUB75

We present one of our latest works, a board for driving color LED panels, this device was conceived and designed for the creation of information panels, it allows the management of 128x128 Pix LED surfaces with 4096 simultaneous colors or 256x128 Pix with 16 simultaneous colors.
It currently manages static and dynamic color texts using up to 32 different Fonts, the number of Fonts is expandable, images and Gifs, up to 100 non-volatile pages composed of text and graphics can be stored.
The intelligence of the board is managed by 4 RP2 Microcontrollers (8 Threads), it has numerous inputs for programming, a USB port, a TTL COM, a TCP/IP connection via WiFi or MQTT protocol and a Bluetooth connection.
The board has two analog inputs, one of which is used via a photo resistor for automatic brightness control, there are also digital inputs for connecting buttons and two photo-coupled inputs for connecting sensors and other external devices.
An expansion connector has been implemented to have the possibility of connecting other external devices, such as sensors of various types, such as thermometers, hygrometers, barometers, air quality and also the possibility of inserting a GSM modem for sending or receiving SMS or for connecting to a GPRS network.
There is also a connector for a MicroSD to perform updates or upload new pages and images to display.
The board is powered at 5V, so it is possible to use the same power supply as the LED boards.

We present the preview of a card for driving RGB HUB75 modules still in the Debug phase, as can be seen from the changes made, this represents a reduced version of the card presented in the previous post, the number of pixels is smaller and the use is indicated for small panels with images preferably of a static type of graphics and text, all the connection methods, interaction and the elasticity of use remain present in numerous fields where the color light communication of images and text is required both for internal and external use.

The use of commercial cards for the management of RGB HUB75 panels can be much more convenient than the development of a custom card using FPGA, using one or more cards in series it is possible to manage large panels with resolutions of over a million pixels, display videos, images, text, video inputs from external sources, all these functions can be managed by a single-board PC that drives all the configured driver cards via ETH1Gb connection.
In our case we used a Colorlight 5A-75E card connected to an RPI4, using the FFP engine to drive the cards and scripts in Python it is possible to obtain any graphic display and total interaction with any external device.
